Architecture in the spotlight: how Imoon illuminates Dynafit’s Speed Factory

Nestled in the picturesque Inn Valley, right at the border between Bavaria and Tyrol, a bold architectural statement rises: the new Speed Factory by Dynafit. Yet it’s not only the futuristic design, conceived by the renowned architecture firm Barozzi Veiga, that captures attention – it’s also the thoughtfully crafted lighting concept by Imoon. The Italian specialist in lighting solutions brings not only brightness to the space, but also creates aesthetic and functional highlights, showcasing the architecture in its best light – quite literally.

The collaboration with Dynafit marks a strategic milestone for Imoon: it's the company’s first architectural lighting project in Germany – a significant step beyond its core retail business. The vision: to treat light not as a commodity, but as an integral part of architectural design.

“Our approach is based on a continuous dialogue with architects and planners, supported by our multidisciplinary expertise,” explains Filippo Squillace, Architectural Division Manager at Imoon. “This translates into custom solutions using specialized LEDs, advanced optics, and a thorough understanding of how light interacts with architectural needs. The focus is on experience.” The goal: to create spaces that are functional, expressive, and energy-efficient – tailored to the needs of each setting.

True to the architectural principle of “less is more”, Imoon has developed a lighting concept that is subtle, nearly invisible. The design consciously avoids visual clutter, instead focusing on precision, integration, and restraint. Light sources are finished in RAL 7047 grey, harmonizing seamlessly with the exposed concrete of the interiors. Light is only used where absolutely necessary – whether to guide, to accentuate architectural elements, or to create emotional resonance.

The Speed Factory is more than just a production site – it's also a vibrant, multi-purpose space for staff, athletes, and visitors. Imoon has created bespoke lighting atmospheres for each functional area:

• Outlet Store: Targeted accent lighting – especially on wall-mounted shelves – spotlights products such as ski touring gear or trail running shoes, enhancing their visibility and perceived quality.

• Workspaces and Laboratories: Linear lighting systems with honeycomb optics ensure uniform illumination and high visual comfort in compliance with European standards – without glare.
• Recreation and Common Areas: Conference rooms, relaxation zones, and a free-climbing wall are equipped with high color-rendering lighting to foster an inspiring and energizing environment.
• Outdoor Spaces: Custom-designed pathway and bollard lights feature tailored optics to reduce light pollution and protect the alpine wildlife – a nod to the pristine natural surroundings.
• Bistro Bivac: This publicly accessible restaurant thrives on dramatic light contrasts that highlight local dishes and elevate the dining experience.
• Central Hall: The architectural heart of the building features a central space with a monumental staircase reaching over 20 meters high. Here, advanced spotlights with ultra-narrow beams tackle the challenge of vertical illumination, delivering pinpoint, uniform lighting even at great heights.

With this project, Imoon reinforces its reputation for high-performance lighting solutions – further evidenced by its debut at Euroluce in Milan, where it unveiled its new modular system LEM. Inspired by the lunar module, LEM is poised to redefine the technical and aesthetic standards of architectural lighting.
